Our Mission Statement

In 2024, 390,000 dogs were euthanized in the US, and this is the highest number in the past five years. (Shelter Animals Count Database, 2025)

Overall, euthanasia is on the rise, which is why we established Homebound Hounds.  We are a California-based dog rescue on a mission to save, foster, and find forever homes for at-risk dogs.

Our core team and volunteers are devoted to preventing unnecessary euthanasia while promoting public awareness of the over-population crisis. We invite you to join our cause, and ideally, one day, we will end capacity-based euthanasia once and for all.

Feature Hounds

Nova and Pickles

Meet Nova (3yo, 20lbs) and Pickles (1yo, 20lbs), two resilient chiweenies who’ve overcome so much after being abandoned in a plastic bag on the streets of LA. 💔 Despite their tough start, these sweet souls love their people and look for a forever home to call their own. ❤️

While they’re still a little scared of the big world, they’re crate and house-trained, making them perfect for a patient adopter with a yard to help them feel secure. 🌱 They’re working hard on leash training and would thrive with someone ready to guide them with love and understanding.

Could you be the one to show Nova and Pickles what it means to be truly home? 🏡🐕
