"Saving dogs from euthanasia,
one paw at a time."
Our Mission

Our Mission Statement
In 2024, 390,000 dogs were euthanized in the US, and this is the highest number in the past five years. (Shelter Animals Count Database, 2025)
Overall, euthanasia is on the rise, which is why we established Homebound Hounds. We are a California-based dog rescue on a mission to save, foster, and find forever homes for at-risk dogs.
Our core team and volunteers are devoted to preventing unnecessary euthanasia while promoting public awareness of the over-population crisis. We invite you to join our cause, and ideally, one day, we will end capacity-based euthanasia once and for all.
Feature Hound
Jewel
At just 6 months old (38 lbs), Jewel has already shown us how resilient and loving she is. Surrendered by an unhomed individual, this sweet girl is now safe and thriving in a foster home in Menifee.
Jewel is suspected to be a Vizsla mix, and true to the breed’s nature, she’s affectionate, gentle, and eager to please. She gets along beautifully with people, kids, dogs, and cats—making her the perfect addition to a variety of families.
Ready to give this precious pup the forever home she deserves?

Success Stories
"If just 6% of the families chose to adopt instead of purchase, we would end the killing of cats and dogs in our nation's shelters." (Source: Best Friends, Apr 2024)
