From our Family to Yours
Our dedicated team of volunteers works tirelessly to ensure the success of Homebound Hounds. Despite juggling full-time jobs, family responsibilities, and personal lives, they give their time and energy to make a difference in the lives of rescue dogs. Their passion and commitment are the heart of our organization, and we invite you to join us in our efforts to adopt, foster, donate, and volunteer.

2024 in Review
“The number of dogs euthanized in animal shelters run by the city of L.A. has skyrocketed this year. According to a Times analysis, from January to September, 1,224 dogs were euthanized at the city’s six shelters — a 72% increase compared with the same period a year ago.” [LA Times, Nov 2024]
This is a startling statistic. Knowing that the euthanasia rate was already at an all-time high in 2023 fuels our team. We vow not to let these animals die in vain and continue our efforts to advocate for the overpopulation crisis, save lives, and find them forever homes. The pups below are some of our rescue highlights for 2024!
As a new rescue, we will be forever grateful to our rescue partners who helped us throughout the year. Please make sure to check them out, as they’re all doing fantastic work: Sandy Dog Rescue, Mutt Luv, Lonely Paws, Thrive Rescue, Furrytail Endings, British Columbia Three Musketeers, A Dog Named Black Jack, Del Mark Rescue, Stacy’s Hope, Frankie’s Family Rescue, Passion for Pitties, and Healing Hounds!

Dog of the Month: MARLEY
A tuxedo shepherd mix with a heart as big as his floppy ears! At one year old, Marley is at the perfect weight of 60lbs and gets along with all animals (dogs, cats, birds, etc) and kids! Rescued off of the Lancaster euthanasia list, Marley is our longest resident, and we can’t understand why. Won’t you help us share this cutie to be seen and adopted?
According to his foster mom, “He can be homed with another dog but will also do fine without. He’s playful, so his fur siblings would ideally be mid-size or bigger. He does well with smaller dogs, but I recommend a slow introduction because he doesn’t know his strengths. He’s not aggressive, very chill, and likes his walks.”
